Two Finger Triumph

by Amanda on August 2, 2010

Frances, who is 78 and a half, started the 12in12 in July to write her memoir. In her first month she managed to pump out over 17,000 words! I thought the printer would never stop!

Here’s the secret to her success :-)

” I am retired and as they say the older you are, the clearer the pictures are of life’s beginnings. Up until now, I haven’t stopped to think, check grammar, spelling etc., as it has just poured out.

Sometimes I just put on some background classical music (like when I paint or do creative free embroidery,) and just live for the moment……and time flies TOO quickly.

Managed about 6 or 7 hours last Sat. I was shocked when it got dark!Sometimes, when I want to bring it all into perspective, I will re-read and then pick up the odd writing mistake and do a correction then.

By the way, I am a two finger typist, so have to look at my hands the whole time.”

Well done Frances. It hasn’t taken long for you to catch up and obviously enjoying the writing experience.
