NEXT RETREAT EARLY 2011 – RESERVE YOUR PLACE NOW

Booking: Space is very limited – maximum five participants.

Where is: Great Mackerel Beach

FAQs:

When does it start and finish?

The retreat will start at 9.30am on Friday morning when you board a Water Taxi at Palm Beach jetty and cross the great divide (1o minutes) to the peaceful haven of Great Mackerel Beach. It will finish on Sunday afternoon when you catch the 4.30pm ferry back to Palm Beach.

What will we do?

Prior to the weekend I would like to have some insight (ie read your manuscript or outline) into your writing project and the weekend will be crafted around the needs of the participants. But for example, some of the ideas I have planned are to show you how a number of books are structured and discuss how this might be applied to your work. We’ll also work on character, description and dialogue using our local environment for inspiration. We’ll discuss writing habits and make some plans to keep you motivated and writing.

What are the sleeping arrangements?

The cottage is one of the original sandstone cottages and full of character but cosy is the word. There are two options; twin-share or bunk in a room for four. The beds are comfy. There are two bathrooms. As I mentioned – cosy!

What will the food be like?

Our gourmet meals are all being specially prepared by Marcus at Home Bistro in Newport – you can check out the menu as a sampling of what we’ll be dining on. Dinner will be two courses (sticky date pudding for dessert – yum!) with unlimited vino (white & rouge).

What are the costs?

I’ve tried to keep the costs down to make it accessible to all and am able to offer the complete package (food/accommodation/workshop) for: $695 twin share or $550 bunk room.

There is only one twin share room – so first in etc. Will need a 50% deposit to secure your place. Payable via bank deposit or credit card (Visa Mastercard)
