Memoir & Family History Workshop

Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th November 2010 (10am-4pm)

Memoir writing is an amalgam of fiction and non-fiction and in this workshop you’ll get practical ideas for organising your material. We’ll work on developing a point-of view and a storyline and borrow tools from fiction writing to make your story come alive.

I’m also working with a short-run (10 copies) printer to provide reasonably priced soft-cover books for when your story is complete.

The focus will be on turning information into a compelling story exploring:

* Ordering and structuring

* How to write description and setting

* Finding a perspective

* Interviewing

* Using dialogue

* Creating resonance

* Self-publishing
